We’re blushing, and ladies this is not your mother’s pink! Our latest favorite hue has a sophisticated silver-tone so it’s more ladylike than over-the-top feminine. We’re not the only ones obsessed. The blush trend is creating super-fans among the tastemakers in fashion and interior design – and it’s easy to understand why. Silver and beige tone blushes can pass as neutrals – which in the design world translates to staying power. Whether used monochromatically or just on a few accents, there’s something to be said about a modern color that’s subtle enough to work with almost any decor.
Recently, we designed a bedroom in our shop to highlight and show off all the delicate nuances of blush. A few of us at the shop are mid-way in plans to redo our guest bedrooms in this color. But for now, we have this oh so chic corner of our shop to remind us what we know to be true: nothing breathes life into a room in a lovelier way.
To set the stage for our shop bedroom, we created an accent wall behind the bed using a subtle blush, silver, and cream-toned wallpaper. The upholstered French-style bed is topped with layers of texture – many in blush. The linen pillowcases, velvet duvet and shams, and lush fur accents add interest and depth, creating a warm and inviting space. Pink quartz lamps with linen shades sit on the spa blue nightstands flanking the bed. On the bedding and around the room, you’ll see a little holiday dazzle, casting this sublime hue in a perfectly magical light.
